With August already here, it means summer is almost over. July definitely threw us for some loops with the odd weather, so it’s hard to guess what August will give us.
I wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your patience with our delayed schedule this year. We have our mulch installations completed and will begin our summer pruning in a few weeks. If you would like to add a pruning for your property, just let us know. There is still plenty of time.
Our fertilizer technician is working his way through the third round of fertilizer and should be finishing up in the next couple of weeks. This is the grub control round and has a fertilizer included as well to help the grass through any summer stress it may experience.
The next operation we are starting to plan for is aeration and overseeding. Aeration helps loosen up the soil in your yard allowing air and water to reach the roots of your turf. Overseeding will help with thickening up your lawn and filling in any bare areas you may see. It is not too late to sign up for one or both of those services, if you would like to. Just get in touch with me and we can work up a price for you.
Our mowing crews are going strong. As long as the rain keeps up, it is tough to say if or when the lawns may go dormant this year. As usual though, if a yard does not need cut one week, we will let it go and come back the following week.
